We had a conversation with Kristian from Vedic Yoga about what yoga actually is, how the practice can help us to be present with how we feel, and how it can help us to relax into ourselves.

He describes how yoga is a framework for enquiry - how asana (yoga postures) provide us with an opportunity to know ourselves on a deeper level. He explains how yoga can help us to move feelings of stuckness and how the practice can help us to navigate life with more fluidity.

Yoga is not about looking beautiful, it's the practice of bringing our full attention to what is actually there, to what is actually happening within the vast folds of our bodies.

It important to note that yoga may not be suitable for everyone all of the time, in particular, those among us who have a history of trauma. Working with a teacher who has a trauma-informed approach to the practice is recommended.
