Friday: 6.30pm—8:00pm
Saturday: 4:30pm—6:00pm
Sunday: 4:30pm—6:00pm
The course is taught in-person over 3 consecutive days, 90 minutes per day.
Day 1: We explore the science of stress, the effect it has on the mind and body, what meditation actually is, and how it works. Then, we learn and practice a specific mantra-based meditation technique.
Day 2 & 3: We discuss the mechanics of meditation, how to make it a consistent practice, as well as diving deeper into how the mind works and how our practice influences our lives on physical, psychological, emotional, and relational levels.
By the end of the course you will be a confident meditator and become part of our beautiful community with access to ongoing support.
The technique is practiced for 20 minutes twice a day, sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. There is no focus, no concentration, and no control of the mind.
You are given a mantra and are taught how to use it silently and effortlessly to cause the mind and body to relax.
In turn, this allows you to release built up stress and fatigue easily and spontaneously.
Through a daily practice, you become less stressed, more calm, and begin to tap into your natural state of creativity, clarity and contentment.
*Meditation should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. If you're feeling drawn to this course but are experiencing financial hardship, please reach out, flexible payment options are available.

How do I get started?
The first step is to sign-up to our next free introduction talk. Or, if you are ready to commit to learning, simply click here (link to booking page).
I’ve never meditated before, will I be able to learn?
Absolutely. You don’t require any prior knowledge or experience to learn. The course is designed to take you from no meditation experience to being a fully self-sufficient meditator. We teach children through to adults and provide ongoing support to help you make meditation an easy daily practice.
Do I need to sit still and stop thinking?
Definitely not. You don’t need to sit perfectly still or stop thinking in order to practice. In fact, thinking is part of the technique. We explain all about thinking in meditation during the course so you feel confident in your practice. We also recommend sitting comfortably on a couch, chair, or anywhere you can have your lower back supported, so you can completely let go and move into deeper states of relaxation. There is no focus or control with this technique, which means we sit comfortably and move when needed to get comfortable again.
How long does it take to experience the benefits of meditation?
The benefits will begin from your first meditation and are cumulative over time. Most people report feeling calmer, having greater physical energy and mental clarity within the first week of meditation. Others notice the benefits unfold more gradually over time. Everyone is at a different starting point in terms of stress and fatigue when they learn to meditate so while the benefits begin immediately, how quickly one noticesthem will vary.
Is meditation technique taught at Base a religious practice?
No, it’s not. The technique we teach is a simple mental technique designed to give the body very deep levels of rest that in turn release the stored stress that holds us back from our full potential. It is not necessary to believe anything in order to practice or to enjoy the many benefits of this technique.
